Our Founder

Founder of SIG, Daniel J. Sheehan, Jr., has been in the Computer/Electronics and Procurement/Manufacturing field since 1965. After 17 years with IBM in various management capacities, including four years as Procurement Manager of IBM’s International Procurement Office in Taiwan, he joined Data General as Director of International Procurement in Hong Kong. Leaving Data General, he stepped aboard Commodore Electronics Ltd. as Vice President of Worldwide Procurement Operations, located in Hong Kong. Mr. Sheehan’s mixture of work experience has given him expert understanding of diverse corporate requirements. A combination procurement, materials, manufacturing, quality, and engineering responsibility over two decades of direct Asian business relations forms the foundation of SIG.

The beginnings of Sheehan International

The Sheehan International Group was established in 1987, headquartered with offices in historic Newburgh, New York and Hong Kong. It counts affiliates in Thailand and Tawain, buyers in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Korea, Japan, Singapore, the Philippines, India and elsewhere, and boasts an effective Sales Representative network throughout the continental United States.

Sheehan International Headquarters

The official Sheehan International Headquarters is located in the heart of Newburgh, New York on the banks of the Hudson River. The office, at over 30,000 square feet, includes warehouse space and shipping stations. At just 60 miles from New York and New Jersey Ocean terminals and major New York airports, the Newburgh location is ideal for fast delivery to customers.
